The 2013-14 darts season started Sep. 17 with last season’s champions, Cutting Edge Dragons, losing to the new Legion 49 Arrows 18 to 15. The Arrows were led by Alison Longmore with five wins out of six and Andrew Longmore and Roger Schiller both won four. Frans Beijk won four out of five for the Dragons.
Legion 49 Bristle Bashers visited the Qualicum Legion Flyers and came away with a win of 25 to eight. Noella Ross, Alan Paterson and Mike Driscoll all recorded five wins out of six. Peter Spinks won four of five for the Flyers.
The Short Sighted Crew won 19 to 14 at the Eagle Shooters with Sylvia Mantyka registering the ladies high score of 152.
The Oceanside Eagles beat the Straight Arrows 18 to 15 led by Larry Fuller with a perfect night of six wins in six and high checkout of 96. Don McIlhargey was top shooter for the Straight Arrows with four wins in five.
