The Ravens travelled to Nanaimo to play the Timbermen on Saturday.

Nanaimo seemed to have a few players that were more interested in trying to make big hits than running the floor.

The Ravens stayed focused by working hard at both ends and trying to run their motion offence.

Goalie Thomas Dunn was full-value for a rare and well-earned shut-out as the Ravens beat Nanaimo by a score of 11-0.

On Sunday, the Ravens gave their moms a hand-crafted gift of teamwork and solid effort as they hosted the Cowichan Valley Thunder at Rod Brind’Amour Arena.

Excellent ball support combined with gritty determination kept offensive threats to a minimum.

One Thunder player tried to be a one-man-wrecking crew but the Ravens used the angling/team defence techniques that they’ve been working on in practice to neutralize him and other Thunder players who tried to go coast-to-coast.

The final score was 7-3 for the Ravens.

Similar to their defensive effort, scoring on the weekend was spread throughout the roster.

Over the weekend, captain Nolan Fair had four goals and one assist, Will McLean had three goals and two assists, assistant captain Zack Lontayao had three goals and one assist, and Liam Rivett had two goals and two assists.

Reilly Doney, Quin Nelson, Bryce Turko, Justin Kennelly, Andy Hunt, Ethan Ouellette and Max Nelson also made significant contributions.

The Ravens are in Victoria this weekend.
