It could have been a lot worse. But fortunately, the Castlegar Complex got their power back on in time for the Aquanauts to get their home swim meet started just about on time.
With seven teams from through the Kootenays, and Western United States, and several hundred swimmers, the meet is well under way.
The home town Aquanauts have a strong contingent with over 60 swimmers expected to take part from the club. Getting to first will be tough though, with the Trail Stingrays club having finished first in four straight meets, usually with the Aquanauts finishing second.
However, with the home town and home pool advantage – expect the ‘Nauts to give the ‘Rays a thrilling battle for first.
The meet goes all day today and Sunday.
