The boys of summer are back. At home, that is.
The Vernon Diamondbacks hold their home-opening senior men’s baseball games this weekend at Marshall Field.
The Trail Orioles will play the D-Backs three times, starting with a doubleheader Saturday.
The D-backs will send left-hander Peter Ortman to the mound for the 2 p.m. start Saturday. Other games go at 4:30 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. Sunday.
“We played Trail really tough last weekend in Kelowna and we are looking to build on it,” said Vernon head coach Kyle Anderson.
“Come out and watch some good baseball and bring the energy that we can feed off of. It’s going to be a good weekend of games.”
The Diamondbacks are looking for their first win of the Okanagan Major Baseball League season.
