WLA scoring leader Curtis Dickson scored twice in his return to the lineup, and the Maple Ridge BurrardsĀ beat the Salmonbellies 7-4 on Thursday night in New Westminster.
It was Riley Loewen who led the Burrard offence, as he scored three goals including the game winner, and adding an assist. Spencer Evans and Andrew Murphy also scored.
Maple Ridge’s rookie goaltender Frankie Scigliano is living up to expectations, and made 46 saves on 50 shots. He was again selected the game’s first star.
In his three starts, Scigliano has gone 2-1, and has a league-leading save percentage of 0.871.
Logan Schuss scored twice for the Bellies.
The win, and a 4-3 record, vaults the Burrards up the early season standings into second place, but third-place Burnaby has played only four games and has gone 3-1.
Dickson, Scigliano and the rest of the Burrards host the Lakers this Sunday in Albion, at 6:45 p.m. at Planet Ice.
