Nick Nepomuceno pulled off the double-double picking up a gold medal for the second consecutive day.
The 13-year-old from North Vancouver was competing for Zone 5 Vancouver-Squamish in diving at the B.C. Winter Games.
The diving portion of the event was held at the Walnut Grove Aquatic Centre in Langley.
“To have fun was the goal, but winning the gold medals was a bonus,” he said.
“I am pretty proud.”
Nepomuceno won the Group B 3m title on Friday and added a second title on Saturday afternoon in the Group B 1m title.
His six dives netted him a score of 301.05, which was well ahead of second-place finisher Kurt Breure of White Rock (Zone 3 Fraser Valley).
Nepomuceno said he was most proud of his front two-and-a-half dive, which is a difficult one to pull off because it has more rotations than the others.
Breure was hampered by a broken thumb, which he suffered two weeks ago.
The injury, which came during another competition was on his right hand, and he said he struggled to adjust using his left hand to clasp overtop his right hand, which he had to do because of the injury.
The bronze medal went to Zone 5’s Richard Jang, who score 158.25. Liam Haasdyk (Zone 2 Thompson-Okanagan) was fourth at 133.85. He was dealing with a sprained wrist.
