James Malm is a 17-year-old forward in his first full season with the Vancouver Giants.>

In 60 WHL games this season, the five-foot-nine, 180-pound centre sits second on the team with 17 goals and 60 points.

Malm was born in North Delta but moved to Langley a few years ago.

He spent a few minutes with Times sports reporter Gary Ahuja to answer some questions about who he is on and off the ice.

How old were you when you first skated: Three. Just my dad bringing me out and I really didn’t like it. But he brought me out a couple months later and I seemed to love it.

Hockey hero: Johnny Gaudreau.

Biggest name from your minor hockey association: Ryan Nugent-Hopkins.

Last concert you attended: I like music, but have surprisingly never been to a concert.

Pump-up song: Something by Kendrick Lamar.

Pre-game ritual: Doing everything up from right to left.

Pre-game meal: Chicken and pasta.

Favourite meal: Sushi.

If you didn’t play hockey, what sport you would play: Baseball. My dad and my brothers grew up playing baseball and my dad was a coach.

If you couldn’t play hockey, what would you do: Something where you could be part of a team, like a firefighter or police officer or something like that.

Favourite subject in school: Social studies.

Nickname: Malmer.

Most goals in a game: Probably have to go back to H4, something like seven goals.

Favourite thing about hockey: Just the team atmosphere, coming to the rink every day and seeing the guys.

How do you relax: Just hanging out with my family and friends.

Teammate most likely to cheat at cards: Taden Rattie.

Best dressed Giant: It was (former teammate Thomas) Foster, now I would say it is probably Tyler Popowich or Brendan Semchuk.

Biggest prankster  on the team: Johnny Wesley.
