Dillon Dube won’t be home for Christmas.

Instead, the Kelowna Rockets forward will be representing his country at the 2017 world junior hockey championship in Montreal and Toronto.

Dube, 18, was one of 22 players named to the Canadian team’s final roster, following the Hockey Canada selection camp this week in Blainville, Quebec.

Dube, a second round NHL draft pick of the Calgary Flames, has a goal and 10 assists in 10 games with the Rockets, after missing the first six weeks of the season with a knee injury.

The Cochrane, AB native will be the 14th member of the Rockets to play for Canada at the world junior championship.

Earlier in the week, Rockets forward Nick Merkley was released from the Canadian junior selection camp.

The IIHF World Junior Championship begins on Boxing Day, with Canada taking on Slovakia.
