Angus Redmond is ready to fly with the Anaheim Ducks.
Redmond parlayed a stellar freshman season with the Michigan Tech Huskies into an entry-level contract with the NHL franchise.
The 21-year-old from Langley signed with the Ducks organization last week (March 31).

“Playing professional hockey has always been a dream of mine,” he said in a press release. “This was my dream and it was right in front of me.
“Michigan Tech gave me the opportunity and has been a great place to develop my game so that I’m ready for the next level.”
The six-foot-one, 200-pound Redmond led Michigan Tech to a Western Collegiate Hockey Association championship and earned WCHA all-rookie honours after posting a 22-10-5 record, a 1.85 goals against average, a .917 save percentage and four shutouts.
“We thank him for the outstanding year that he gave us, and we wish him success as he pursues is NHL dreams,” said Michigan Tech coach Mel Pearson.
“Even though it was a short stay, Angus provided our team and fans with many memorable moments.”
Redmond is a Walnut Grove Secondary alum, graduating in 2013.
Prior to joining the Huskies, Redmond spent three and a half seasons with the BCHL’s Salmon Arm Silverbacks.
He posted a career 59-61-7 record with a 2.94 GAA, .906 save percentage and eight shutouts in his time with Salmon Arm.
