Duncan Christian hosts VIU and Camosun for preseason volleyball

Men's teams play Sept. 26, women's team play Oct. 2

Beginning this Wednesday, Duncan Christian School is hosting a pair of preseason matches between the Vancouver Island University and Camosun College volleyball teams.

The VIU men — featuring DCS grads Doug Groenendijk and Adam Kapteyn — will face Camosun on Wednesday at 7 p.m., preceded by a high school senior boys match between the DCS Chargers and Chemainus Secondary Cougars at 5 p.m. The gym opens at 4:30 p.m.

The defending national champion VIU women’s team, which includes DCS grads Danielle and Megan Groenendijk, will take on Camosun on Tuesday, Oct. 2 at 7 p.m., as part of a volleyball triple-header. The DCS junior girls will host the Queen of Angels Royals at 3:30 p.m., followed by the senior girls battling the Lake Cowichan Lakers at 5 p.m.
