Cary Eggertson and the rest of his coaching staff were put together at the last minute to lead the Langley bantam Dusters.
But while some might expect a chaotic season after being thrown together a week before hockey season, that was not the case for this group.
“I couldn’t have asked for anything more for a guy getting thrown into the fire,” Eggertson said.
“Just a bunch of hard workers. The coaches were always talking about working hard and they listened.”
The Dusters capped off a great season with an 8-0 victory over Langley LY1 in the bantam Langley Cup final on March 30 at George Preston Recreation Centre.
The team also had tournament victories in Richmond and Salmon Arm and Eggertson figures the team only lost three out of 50 games all season.
