The Eagle Eye Archers have laid out a new and exciting course in the wilderness of Kasiks Lodge.
The 10th Anniversary Kasiks 3D Shoot aims to offer new targets, and challenging nuisances never before seen at this event.
“New alternations will be completed, with a bunch of new targets which will be a total surprise, [it] isn’t something that’s been done before in the format that we’re presenting.,” Fred Hutchings, event director, said.
Hutchings said the event will attract 150-170 archers ranging from youngsters to seniors.
“This weekend and next week, we will place our targets and equipment into the woods, and do our trail prep. It takes a lot of man hours, to make it [the course] as life-like as possible,” Hutchings said. “As you’re walking in the woods, if you were to come across a porcupine, or a wolf, or a deer or a bear, we create those type of situations with life-sized animals.
The carved trail meanders under a tree canopy and groups of three to six people take to the course with 35 targets.
There is a practice range right at the Kasiks Lodge. The event rents all of the camp sites at the Kasiks lodge. There is still time to enter, but camping spots fill up quickly.
The event will go May 27-29. Contact: Fred Hutchings at 250-627-9314.
