The Langley Peewee A3 Eagles had a lot to celebrate over the Thanksgiving weekend as the team soared to gold in the Abbotsford Tier 3 Tournament.
Playing against teams from Kelowna, Seattle, Whitehorse, and Abbotsford, the Eagles went undefeated, and faced Semiahmoo in the finals.
After a slow start and being two goals down halfway through the first period, the Eagles battled back to a 7-3 win.
The Eagles finished the tournament with 35 goals for, five goals against, and logging two shutouts in five games.
“The kids were phenomenal. They played hard and fast, and made opportunities for themselves in front of the net that obviously paid off,” said Gary Bowsher, head coach of the A3 Eagles.
“Considering that this is just the beginning of the season, I’m very excited to see how this team develops by the end of the season.”
