École North Oyster School had a strong showing at the Nanaimo-Ladysmith School District Cross Country Zone races on Tuesday thanks to two young runners.
Griffin Brooks and Nolan Smith, both 9, of École North Oyster placed first and second respectively in the 1.5 kilometre distance.
There were approximately 100 boys in grades 3 and 4 from eight schools.
District finals are being held Nov. 2 at Beban Park.
