Former Chilliwack Bruins captain Nick Holden is on the move again, joining his sixth National Hockey League team.
The 34-year-old, who played for the Western Hockey League Bruins (now Victoria Royals) from 2006 to 2008, has been dealt from the Las Vegas Knights to the Ottawa Senators. Holden goes to Canada’s capital along with a draft pick in return for forward Evgenii Dadonov.
Holden has played in 568 regular season and playoff games, by far the longest career of any former Bruin.
He signed as an undrafted free agent with the Columbus Blue Jackets and made his NHL debut in 2010-11.
Since then he’s also played for the New York Rangers, Boston Bruins, Colorado Avalanche and most recently Las Vegas.
Holden appeared in just 17 regular season games for Vegas in 2020-21, collecting two assists.
But he became a regular on the Golden Knights D during the team’s run to the Western conference final, logging 15 games while producing two goals and seven points.
