Chinook, pink and coho salmon continue to move through Sooke waters on the way to their respective rivers to spawn this fall.
As the salmon swim past feeding on minnows, herring and a multitude of other creatures, there are pockets, groups or schools formed which also means there are gaps, this is when the fishing becomes a little slower.
Last weekend many fishers experienced a slow down in the salmon fishing, this of coarse can and will change very quickly.
There were some reports of some larger chinook coming to the dock closer to 30 lbs. last week.
Halibut fishing reports are scarce as most anglers target salmon at this time of year.
Crabbing in the harbour remains consistent with large male Dungeness crabs going after fresh chicken or fish trimmings left for at least a day while out fishing on the boat.
