Dr. Lee Dental/Checkers continued their winning ways with a 5-1 victory over IRL Blazers at Marshall Field #2 in a downpour Tuesday night.
Kim Teichman, Andi King and Madison Kaneda each had a goal and an assist for the floss crew, who improved to 4-2 in the North Okanagan Women’s Soccer Association Competitive Division.
Ageless Irene Arrotta added a goal late in the first half, and the youngest Dodds sister – Kirsten – had the highlight goal of the night when she made a 30-yard run around several Blazer players and tucked one into the left corner of the net.
Dana Reid added two assists, while Lisa Arrotta made several key saves late in the second half to earn the win.
The Blazers dipped to 0-4-2.
In the other Competitive Division game, the TED United of Salmon Arm iced the Little Tex Outlaws 1-0 at Marshall Field #1.
Little Tex keeper Gineil Ferrier was incredible, making several clutch saves to keep things tight.
Jordan Mercer was outstanding on defence, stopping the United offence, while Christine Fraser had a solid game with a handful of shots on net.
Stacey Cover, Jen Kemper and Monica Neilson had strong games, creating loads of scoring opportunities without finish. The Outlaws dipped to 4-3, while United went to 5-0-2.
In Masters Division action, the Okanagan Impact brushed back Shuswap Merlot 2-0 at Marshall #5.
Minda Chittenden and Janelle Smithson scored for the Impact, who had no subs in the rain.
Excellent work was turned in all game by Kim Wiebe as the Impact ran their record to 4-3-1. The Merlot crew dropped to 4-3-1.
In other Masters play, Becky Mueller scored the winner as Monashee’s Pub brushed back the Goplen Drillers 2-1 at Marshall Field #3.
Monashee’s went to 2-4-2, while the Drillers fell to 2-4-2.
