Victoria Grizzlies alumnus Jamie Benn will don the ‘C’ this season for the Dallas Stars.
Benn is going into his fifth NHL season with the Stars. He was an alternate captain last season and after Brenden Morrow was moved to Pittsburgh, the job was up for grabs.
The 24-year-old Victoria native led the Stars in scoring last season and has three 20-goal campaigns under his belt. He spent the 2006-07 season with the BCHL Grizzlies, posting 42 goals and 23 assists in 53 games.
