Fraser River continued to meander through the opposition as they swarmed Bear early and managed to hang on for the 6-3 win. With the victory Fraser River joins Bear in the FHL Penthouse with an impressive 5-1-3 record. Leading the double blue to the win was Ian “Heartbreaker” Hannah who scored a pair with his 2nd of 2 assists allowing “RCA” Victor Hegan to pot the winner. After Bear had whittled the 4 nothing advantage to 1 goal it was Brian “Dominator” Domeris who took charge as he assisted on the insurance marker before pounding the nail into the Bear coffin with his 2nd of the season. Strangely the comeback attempt was led by a bloody Bear as Cam “Shaft” Graham needed 4 stiches to close a wound before returning to the ice that prompted a Don Cherry tweet “Good Canadian Boy #Beauty”. With “Shaft” back in action and providing a pair of assists, Bear made it a 4-3 deficit as Jeff “Needles” Needham scored a couple as Justin “Time” Rasmussen rippled the mesh for the 10th time this season.

The other contest had such little flow that one BCS pine-rider was heard to say “If it keeps going like this, the Zamboni driver is going to be the first star”. But the netminders had a different idea as they both put on a clinic in the 2nd half as Blue Collar won their second straight one goal game with a 2-1 defeat of the Builders. Leading his team in the point category was Wade “The Blade” Fenton who opened up the scoring before setting up Dave “Chainsaw” McCulloch who hammered in the winning marker on the PP. From then on it was the “Let it ” Reign Turley show as he made his FHL debut a memorable one with at least 5 scintialting saves of the larenous variety. With Matt “The Punisher” Powell being the only Builder to find the back of the BCS net, Richard Ward “Off Evil” had to to make a bevy of big saves to give his squad a chance to force the shoot-out. With the loss, Serenity needs to find their happy place quickly as their 1-7-1 record has them firmly rooted in the cellar with winter and night walkers fast approaching.
