The Fraser Valley Bandits have added a homegrown guard to the roster as the team prepares for its second season in the Canadian Elite Basketball League.
Jahenns Manigat was born in Montreal, currently lives in Ottawa and is regarded as one of the top point guards in the country.
Manigat’s resume includes four years of NCAA Div 1 hoops with Creighton University (2010-2014) where he started 122 of 145 games for the Bluejays. Creighton advanced to the third round of the NCAA March Madness tournament in Manigat’s sophomore, junior and senior seasons and he ranks sixth all time in the school’s record book with 206 three pointers made.

During his NCAA career he averaged 6.2 points, 2.3 rebounds and 2.1 assists and played alongside Doug McDermott, who is now an NBA star with the Indiana Pacers.
Since graduating, Manigat’s pro career has taken him to top leagues in Romania, Cyprus, Germany and Lithuania.
The last two years he’s played for DEAC Kosárlabda, a team that plays in Hungary’s Nemzeti Bajnokság I/A, the country’s highest division of men’s pro basketball and one of Europe’s top leagues. During the 2019-20 campaign, Manigat averaged 11.1 points, 4.1 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.3 steals steals per game.
“After four awesome years at Creighton and playing at some of the highest levels of professional basketball across Europe, I am excited to return to Canada to play for Coach (Kyle) Julius and the Bandits organization,” Manigat said. “The opportunity to compete on Canadian soil is truly special and I look forward to leading with my energy and performance on both ends of the floor.”
