Arrowsmith Rec Association starts fall youth programs in basketball, volleyball and floor hockey

The Arrowsmith Community Recreation Association (ARCA) is starting up its fall Free Youth Drop-in Sports Programs in the gym at the Coombs Fairgrounds this week. With the support of the Regional District of Nanaimo and many volunteers, ARCA will offer basketball for two age groups and floor hockey and volleyball for ages 16-over.

“All of these programs encourage fair play, good sportsmanship and all level of skill is welcome,” said Kim Longmuir, program organizer.

The free drop-in sessions are as follows:

• Tuesdays: Free Youth Drop-in Basketball, Ages 16+/ 7-9 p.m., Sept. 27-Nov. 29.

• Thursdays: Free Youth Drop-in Basketball Ages 11-14/ 6:30-8 p.m., Sept. 29-Dec. 1.

• Thursdays: Free Youth Drop-in Floor Hockey Ages 16+/ 8:15-9:45 p.m., Sept. 29-Dec. 1.

• Sundays: Free Youth Drop-in Volleyball Ages 16+/ 7-9 p.m., Sept. 25-Dec. 4.
