Five local players on midget female provincial team while boys roster has one Langley teen

Six Langley box lacrosse players will play on the Team BC female and male midget provincial teams this summer.

Six Langley box lacrosse players will play on the Team BC female and male midget provincial teams this summer.

Five Langley girls on the Team BC midget box lacrosse roster are holding a pair of fundraisers on the weekend to help offset some of their travel costs.

Tia Tuininga, Olivia Ohlmann, Fiona Briner, Haileigh Robertson and Raachel Beaulieu will represent B.C. July 18 to 23  in Calgary  at the Canadian midget box lacrosse championships.

They are all from the Langley Minor Lacrosse Association.

The players will be doing a bottle drive on July 9 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. behind the George Preston Recreation Centre (208 Street and 42 Avenue) as well holding a hot dog sale on July 10 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Otter Co-op (3650 248 St.).

They are also selling cookie dough, accepting donations and picking up bottles.

Another LMLA player, Jordan Daniel, will play for the Team BC boys team at the minor box lacrosse national championships.

The championships run July 31 to Aug. 6 in Whitby, Ont.
