Three athletes who train at the Juan de Fuca BMX track are taking their talents to South Carolina, and the broader community has a chance to support those efforts by attending a gala fundraiser dinner.

Janel Church, Dominic Buch and Brayden Friesen, from Metchosin, Colwood and Sooke, respectively, have honed their skills at the West Shore track and qualified for a place at the 2017 BMX World Championships this July.

The gala fundraiser being held on their behalf happens Saturday, Apr. 1 at the Pacific Fleet Club at CFB Esquimalt. It features a prime rib buffet dinner, cash bar, silent auction and live music with a DJ. For ticket and sponsorship information, visit the event’s Facebook page at bit.ly/2lzxHXP.
