Two local organizations will share $41,600 in Community Gaming Grants from the Ministry of Community, Sport and Cultural Development.
They are Summerland Orca Swim Club which received $21,600 and Apex Ski Club which received $20,000. The Apex Ski Club and Summerland Orca Swim Club both have the same goals: promoting fitness and fun, said Penticton MLA Bill Barisoff.
“Its great to see them receive funding.”
Across British Columbia, 137 recipients will share $3,775,327 in the latest round of grants from provincial gaming revenue. These grant recipients offer programs in arts and culture, human and social services, and sport. Last year, the government distributed a total of $135 million in gaming grants to about 5,300 groups.
