The Save-On-Foods Oceanside Generals host two events this weekend. Saturday is the third Skate with the Gens event which sees a lot of young players get a chance for a game of shinny with the team.
“Last year was a success with the skate and we’re excited about it again,” said community relations manager Tali Campbell. “The returning players had nothing but great things to say about their experience with it last year so it should be a lot of fun.”
On Sunday, for their game against the Penninsula Panthers at 2:30 p.m., the crowd is encouraged to “white out” Oceanside Place. Fans who wear white and bring in a non–perishable food item for the SOS will get in for half price and enter a $25 gift certificate draw.
“The sea of white is an awesome visual, not only for fans but the players too,” Campbell said. “We’re hoping to have another great turnout from our fans, who’ve showed our team great support so far and we hope to see that continue.”
