Oceanside potted an empty-net goal late in the third period of their home game against the Kerry Park Islanders Saturday night — and they needed it to seal the deal.
With less than one minute left in the game, the Islanders scored on a broken defensive play, to keep the game close. The Gens held on for the final 52 seconds to win, 4-3.
The win is the Generals’ second in a row, having beaten the same Islanders 5-1 at Kerry Park the previous Thursday evening.
The Gens now sit 5-8-0-1 (one overtime loss) in the Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League, in second place in the North division.
