Skip Jenn Gerow spotted Sherry Heath a point and then went on a march Wednesday night at the Vernon Curling Club.
After Heath’s Trademark Packaging made a tough draw against three stones for a single in the first end, Gerow’s CanHealth/A&G Supply responded with a three-ender in two on the way to a 14-2 Baron Insurance Super League win.
Heath earned another single in three, but Gerow seized control with a triple in four, double steal in five and a single steal in six.
In the seventh end, Gerow pulled off a pair of terrific come-arounds through a narrow port to the four-foot for a steal of five.
With Ryan LeDrew skipping a three-person rink, TJ Perepolkin’s Cannacord Wealth Management collected its first super league win with a 9-6 result against Robbi Kuhn’s North Enderby Timber.
Tied 5-5 after four ends, LeDrew counted three in the fifth to put the game out of reach.
Mark Longworth came out flying with three points in the first end, but fell short in an 8-5 loss to Jim Cotter’s Woodland Equipment.
A deuce in two, followed by a single steal in three and triple steal in four gave Cotter a comfortable lead. Longworth orchestrated some solid shots to rally with a deuce in six, but Cotter came back with two in seven and ran Longworth out of stones in eight.
Dave Merklinger’s Canwest Propane cracked back-to-back triples in six and seven to earn a 9-5 win over Allysa Kyllo’s Armstrong Optometry.
Kyllo controlled the game in the early going, counting singles in ends one and two. Merklinger responded with a triple in three, only to give up a deuce in four and single steal in five.
Kyllo pressed in the seventh end, but had her final rock pick, allowing Merklinger to escape danger with a big steal.
