Today the word “golF” is spelt with a capital “F”….it was the “F” game!
The ball sweep was in hot contention for the 18-hole division when we were told to give ourselves 10 extra points if our drive landed on the “F”irst cut of the “F”airway. At the end of 18 holes we subtracted the total number of our putts for the round from the total of our “F” shots.
Leona Fowler walked away uncontested with a total score of 107. Claudia Romaniuk came in second with 91 points.
Janice Cross was the low gross scorer, carding a 91. Carol Hastings, Teresa Cutting and Leona Fowler all tied with their low net scores of 79.
We played off the gold blocks today as we will for the next two weeks and the drop-in format will continue until further notice.

Nine-hole division
A Division — Low gross position became a tie score with Katy Lekich and Kathy Toms.
Kathy Toms went on to take the Low Net score all on her own. Low Putts for the round was a tie also, between Lois Robinson and Marie Swain.
B Division — Another two contenders tied for the low gross score for this division, Mary Ann Madison and Lorraine Wilson.
Wilson made the low net all by herself. Low putts also saw a tie between Wilson and Lesley Anderson.
Chip-ins were circled by Lois Robinson on No. 16; Kathy Toms on No. 12; and Mary Ann Madison on No. 13. Although there were no birdies on this morning’s round, Lorraine Wilson carded a par on No. 17.
Well done, ladies!
Business ladies
Last week was the first session for the business ladies after being snowed out the first week (as were the rest of us). Closest to the pin on No. 2 went to Kathy Toms and on No. 4, Janice Boyko nailed it. All K.P. winners all season get to go in the “shoot-out” at the closing scramble in September.
