Summerland golfers competed in regular season league play

Summerland Ladies Club

On Sept 18, the club competed in low net tournament sponsored by the Summerland Rental Centre.

Results: Winner Ellen Clay, 72; runner up Kathy Larkin, 73; third Vijai Vaagen, 74; fifth Janis Goll, 75; sixth Betsy McAndrew, 76, seventh (tie) Pat Gartrell and Amanda McConaghy, 77.

Long Putt on #18 Kathy Larkin. Closest to the pin on #4: first flight Lanette Graham; second flight Amanda McConaghy.

On Sept. 25, the club played Putt for Points.

First flight: First Vijai Vaagen, 25; second Vi Ward, 24; third Helen Pybus, 23; fourth Linda Brussee, 21.

Second flight: First Maribel Rothfield, 25; second Janis Goll, 20; third Sheila Westgate, 18.

Summerland Senior Men

On Sept. 13, the club played an all net scores event. Alf Vaagen was the low net winner with a 68.

On Sept. 20, the club played a team event counting the three low net scores per hole.

Results: First Dwain Sandrelli, Doug Steinke, Nick Coe and Ken Bridgeman, 14 under par; second Stew Macaulay, Herb Williams, Chuck Harman and Greg Flook, 13 under par; third (tie) Dennis Glasscock, Neville Crane, Peter Schnurr and Craig Woolven and Sandy McDowell, Moe Mellow, Rick Drewnisz and Terry Steinke.

Dennis Glasscock,Reg Minty, Nick Coe and Neville Crane shared the deuce pot.

On Sept. 27, the club played a team event counting the best three net scores.

Results: First Rick Drewnisz, Peter Shnurr, Sandy McDowell and Bob Fortune, 10 under par; second (tie) Reg Minty, Alf Vaagen, Jeff Clarke and Andy Webster and Chuck Harman, Bob Dickerson, Doug Marchesi and Moe Mellow, four under par.

Dennis Glasscock, Chuck Harman and Moe Mellow shared the deuce pot.
