More than 275 students competed in the cross-country meet held at the Mile 108 Elementary School on May 20.

Grades 2-7 students competed in runs that looped around the Cariboo Christian Life Fellowship church and back onto the Mile 108 Elementary School grounds. This was the first time the grades 2-3 students got to participate in the event. They ran 1.5 kilometres.

Grades 4-5 students ran 2.5 km and the grades 6-7 students ran 3.5 km.

Cross-country meet organizer Steve Almond says he was happy to see the students competed and constantly cheered on other students.

Participation is a big thing for this event. It also promotes health and fitness.”

The event was broken into two categories with students from 100 Mile House Elementary School (100), Mile 108 Elementary School (108) and Horse Lake Elementary School (HLES) competing for the large school award.

Students from Forest Grove Elementary School (FGES) and Eliza Archie Memorial School (EAMS) competed for the small school award.
