Forty-eight couples turned out for the annual Divorce Open at the 108 Golf Resort on June 4-5.

A smaller number than the previous year allowed for quicker rounds, and with the weekend heat, it was a welcome surprise.

The Divorce Open is a two-day competition in which husbands and wives team up to play a round of best ball. The teams brought a lot of skill to the event and thankfully, egos didn’t get in the way of couple dynamics.

Event organizers Maureen Pinkney and Bill Harris are already planning for next year.

There was some uncertainty of whether the event was happening, which led to fewer people coming out,” says Pinkney.

But those who missed it have already signed up for next year, which is fantastic.”

Overall lowest gross for the weekend went to Harris and Pinkney. while overall lowest net went to Jack Rausch and Lynda Lewis.
