Good results in Fernie for Kimberley Nordic skiers

This past weekend some of the Kimberley’s Nordic skiers travelled to Fernie for the Kootenay Cup races 3 and 4. The weather was varied and skiers had the challenges of dealing with sleet, sun, wind, snow, and some ice. Although the weather was unpredictable the races were well organized and the locals put on a fun-filled event in which all of our Kimberley members saw success! All the skiers performed well and many came home with a medal to show for it! This year the Fernie club put in a timing sensor at the top of a long sustained hill climb called The Runt. Kimberley’s Sydney Wilson made it up the climb with the fastest time for all the females participating in the race.

You can see the Kimberley Nordic team in action this weekend at their home club, as the Kimberley Nordic Club hosts the next races in the series.
