Gorge Vale golfer wins

The overall winner was Murray McAllindon of Gorge Vale and the overall net winner was Alberni’s Wolf Suhr .

Sixty-six players teed it up in the second annual senior men’s tournament held at the Alberni Golf Club on the weekend. The field was split into two age groups, “A” group consisted of men 55 to 65 while the “B” group were 66 plus.

The overall winner with a two-day gross total of 144 was Murray McAllindon of Gorge Vale. Alberni’s Wolf Suhr was the over all net winner coming in with 135.

In the A division first low gross from Duncan Meadows was Bob McNab, while Alberni’s Proban Rasmussen won the first low gross in the B division.

Ron Clark from Alberni was 1st low net in the A division and Hank Modras from Story Creek was 1st low net in the B division.

Other gross winners were Gordon Gurbisich of Story Creek, Brian Munro of Eaglecrest, Mark Kloske of March Meadows, Steve Acland of Alberni, Chris Kalnay of Glacier Greens, Steve Hamilton of Gorge Vale, Bill MacPherson of Victoria, and Albert Cliff of Sidney.

Other net winners were Ivan Petersen  of Alberni, Henry Chretien of Alberni, Dan Green of Gorge Vale, Ron Barker of Alberni, Bob Matlock of Alberni, Glen Trask of Alberni, Ken Bibby of Cottonwood and Gary Korven of Alberni.

This Sunday, Sept. 28 is the Men’s Club wind-up. Register in the Pro Shop in your own group for the 8:30 a.m. Shotgun start.
