The Grand Forks Border Bruins scored first but ended up losing 4-1 to the Leafs in Nelson last night.
Forward Luke Jones scored the team’s one goal, with Connor Kidd assisting and goalie Dominic Stadnyk made 25 saves on 29 shots.
Jones was named the third star of the game.
Border Bruins Hayden Pasacreta and Brandon Savaia both served one-game suspensions for fighting in the last 10 minutes of the team’s previous game against the Kimberley Dynamiters.
Grand Forks now prepares for a road game in Invermere vs. the Columbia Valley Rockies on Friday.
The team is in Golden to play the Rockets on Saturday and finishes things off with an afternoon game against the Dynamiters on Sunday.
The team’s next home game is Dec. 14 against the Rockets at Grand Forks Arena.
