The Grandmothers Tournament was held Thursday, May 26 at Sunnydale. Forty ladies turned out and enjoyed a good day of golf with the weather co-operating.
Low gross winner with a 89 was Nancy Riva, 2nd was Sue Del Casino with 91 and Chris Fredrickson was 3rd with 93. Fourth low gross was Linda Hayes with 94 and Lys McCrone was 5th with 96. Lois Westbrook was 6th with 98 and Sue Leakey was 7th with 99.
On the net side Louise Smiley was 1st with 73, Doon Law 2nd with 75, Pat Schmidt 3rd with 76 and Vicki Bombini was 4th with 77. Grace Coulter was 5th with 78, Pat Rudolph 6th with 79 and 7th were Phyllis Taylor, Marg Poje and Jane Keoughan with 80. Eighth was Iona Wheatley with 81, Karen Salminen, Sandra Gallaway, Blod Crookshank and Kathy Reid were 9th with 82 and Marlene Gerrie was 10th with 83.

Sunnydale Ladies enjoyed a beautiful day for their golf round. Here are the results: 1st low gross, Carolyn Walker 88, 2nd Marlene Gerrie with 95, 3rd Lys McCrone and Frankie McCaffrey with 96, Trish Heyland was 4th with 98 and Sandra Gallaway 5th with 100.
On the net side the winners are: Blod Crookshank and Doris Squire with 72. 2nd Ann Gardam with 74, 3rd was Norma Rankin and Sharon Littler with 75. Jane Grant, Rona Lawson and Jane Keoughan were 4th with 77, 5th was Ann McLeod and Edith Thompson with 78. Magge Miller won low putts with 26 and the winner of long putt on #9 was Charlene Cebryk. Winner of 2nd shot #5 was Edith Thompson. KP on #10 was Pat Lowe and Vicki Bombini was KP #15.
Our nine-hole ladies had 10 participants and the low gross winner was Louise Smiley. Trudi Garratt won low putts. Honourable mention goes to Carol Busse 2nd low gross and Lillian Twells runner-up in putting.
Next week is early hours as we fall back half an hour. Tee off is now 8:30, so be there by 8 a.m.

It was a Thursday evening and the Comox Ladies had some good golf scores to go along with it. Thanks to our pro, Grant Goudy, for joining us ladies this evening for a round of golf.

open to all ladies who would like to play nine holes of golf; you don’t have to be a member of the Comox Golf Club.
Tee choice
For the May 31 game, members of the Crown Isle Ladies golf club signed up to play off either the red or silver tees.
Nineteen women chose the silver tees, for which the course length is 5,415 yards. May Mitchell scored the low gross at 80 and Iris Peterson was low net with 70.
Twenty women chose the red tees, with the course length being 5,169 yards. Low gross was Sheila Potts with 95, while Donna Wilson and Julie Tuepah shared the low net of 71.
The KPs were awarded to Helen Kitchen on #7 and Audrey Clark on #16. Birdies were scored by Sheila Potts (#2), Shirley Podovsky and Linda Foreman (#12) and May Mitchell (#14). Of special note is that May Mitchell eagled hole #9.
It was a good day – the weather, the snacks, and the fun.
Hole in one
Glacier Greens Ladies extend congratulations to Gene Renaud who had a hole in one on #4 on Thursday May 26, making this her fifth in her career.
Packing their bags and good luck charms are Angie Krahn and Irene Marshall heading to March Meadows June 6 for the Champion of Champions Tournament.
Pin day on Tuesday was won by Lori Cameron with a net 66 and also snagging the low putts win with 26 putts.
Gross scores had Angie Krahn leading with 83, followed by Tobi Norris 85 and Gene Renaud with 91. Other net scores were Leslie Hauser with 67, Roberta Cadieu 68 and Liz van B on a count back of 69. Longest putt on #9 was Gene Renaud. KP on #12 was Tobi Norris.
Rose Jacobson, Gwyn Greer, Kim Delaval and Paula Mowatt are now sporting snazzy looking pink hats for most honest golfing. The committees are busy with final details for the Glacier Greens Ladies Open on June 11 and entries are still being accepted.
Big winner
Ann Pokorny was the big-time winner at Sunnydale Thursday Ladies golf, taking the honours for longest putt, closest to the pin on 3rd shot and closest to the big tree.
Net honours went to Judy Brown with closest to the pin 2nd shot and low putts. Closest to the big rock was Sherry Harrison and Kathy Meunier was our most honest golfer.
