The Grizzlies, who lost 4-2 to the West Kelowna Warriors Sunday afternoon, are last in the 17-team circuit at 3-11-0-2 with the least goals for record at 34.

Nick Guiney put Victoria head at 12:55 of the first period with assists going to Tyler Welsh and Cody Van Lierop.

Cole Pickup added insurance at 7:26 of the third period. PJ Conlon and Mitchell Barker earned helpers.

Victoria outshot Vernon 50-31, including a 21-8 margin in the third period. Matthew Galajda recorded his first shutout of the season, while Andrew Shortridge was sensational again for the Vipers (8-8-0-1).

Vernon, who have four player cards remaining, host the Salmon Arm Silverbacks (10-3-2) Wednesday night and entertain the Trail Smoke Eaters (6-9) Friday night.

The Penticton Vees lead the league at 15-1, followed by the expansion Wenatchee Wild at 10-4-2-1.
