It was a busy weekend for Kicking Horse Gymnastics Club as 30 athletes headed out of town for competition.

It was a busy weekend for Kicking Horse Gymnastics Club as 30 athletes headed out of town for competition.

The coveted Coconut Cup was held in Kimberley. Eight athletes from Kicking Horse were competing for the very first time. All the athletes at the club worked hard to achieve their goals, to attain their skills, and improve their artistry.

In the Interclub division Summer Ricard performed routines on the floor, beam, bars and vault and Malcolm Labonville performed routines on the floor, Pommel Horse, bars and vault.

In the Performance Plus category, Marley Cooper achieved gold Ribbons on vault (9.5), bars (9.25), beam (9.0) and floor (8.8) with an all-around gold Medal (36.55).

Hayden Nolin achieved gold Ribbons on vault (9.5), bars (8.5), beam (8.5), and floor (8.6) with an all-around gold Medal (35.1). Amelia Labonville achieved gold on vault (9.5), silver on bars (7.0), beam (7.5) and floor (8.25) with an all-around silver Medal (32.25). Breck Nolin achieved gold on vault (9.0), bronze on bars (6.75), silver on beam (7.5) and floor (8.05) with an all-around silver Medal (31.3).

In Junior Olympic Level 1, Bluejean Hollick received gold all-around (36.75) with gold on floor (9.45), beam (9.3), bars (9.0) and vault (9). Isabella Fischer received silver all-around (35.5) with gold on vault (9) and beam (9) and silver on floor (8.95) and bars (8.55). Stella Kells received silver all-around (33.95) with gold on floor (9.1) and silver on beam (8.6), bars (8) and vault (8.25). Scout Adama received silver all-around (34.375) with silver on floor (8.825), beam (8.4), bars (8.45) and vault (8.7). Taylor Hale received silver all-around (35.15) with silver on floor (8.8), beam (8.85), bars (8.65) and vault (8.85). Estella Schellenberg received silver all-around (33.625) with silver on floor (8.475), bars (8.45) and vault (8.8) and bronze on beam (7.9).

In Junior Olympic Level 2 age group 1 Mia Cholo ranked second all-around (35.9) with fourth on vault (8.85), silver on bars (8.825), silver on beam (9.275) and bronze on floor (8.95). Olive Mackenzie ranked fourth all-around (34.75) with sixth on vault (8.65), fourth on bars (8.55), fourth on beam (9.125) and sixth on floor (8.425). Isla Telfer ranked fifth all-around with silver on vault (9.1), fifth on bars (8.4), fifth on beam (8.925), eighth on floor (8.0). In age group 2: Alanis Schellenberg ranked fifth all-around with eighth on vault (8.75), fourth on bars (8.75), eighth on beam (8.9) and seventh on floor (8.45). Bliss Ricard ranked sixth all-around with a bronze on vault (8.95), sixth on bars (8.45), seventh on beam (8.975), and eighth on floor (8.0). Holly Pattinson ranked eighth all-around with a fourth on vault (8.9), seventh on bars (7.65), fifth on beam (9.075) and sixth on floor (8.6). In age group 3: Maddison Vanderhart ranked sixth all-around with sixth on vault (8.6), fifth on bars (7.95) and seventh on beam (9.1) and floor (8.4).

Junior Olympic Level 3 athletes were ranked. In age group one, Jasmine Tataryn ranked second all-around (35.425) with fourth on vault (9.1), silver on bars (8.825) and beam (9.075) and bronze on floor (8.425). Amara Schellenberg ranked fifth all-around (33.45) with fifth on vault (8.55), bronze on bars (8.6), fourth on beam (8.5) and fifth on floor (7.8). In age group two, Rainya Potvin ranked fifth all-around with 10th on vault (8.85), fourth on bars (8.775), fifth on beam (8.975) and third on floor (9.125). Zoey Nutt-Briggs ranked seventh all-around (34.65) with fourth on vault (9.075), eighth on bars (7.85), seventh on beam (8.6), third on floor (9.125). In age group 3: Sisely Roeters ranked 11th all-around (32.6) with 11th on vault (8.75), 10th on bars (7.85), 11th on beam (7.05) and fifth on floor (8.9).

Junior Olympic Level 7 athletes were ranked. Akaisha Duggan placed sixth all-around (34.025) with silver on vault (9.25) and beam (9.175) and seventh on bars (7.8) and floor (7.8).

High School Level 2 athletes had a good competition. Olivia Harris ranked fifth all-around (34.95) with silver on vault (8.7), bars (8.95), beam (8.875) and eighth on floor (34.95). Sierra Crowe ranked sixth all-around (33.8) with bronze on vault (8.55), sixth on bars (8.4), and seventh on beam (8.4) and floor (8.45).

The same weekend, two seasoned Junior Olympic Level 4 athletes and one Men’s Artistic Gymnastics Provincial Level 1 athlete headed to Canmore for the Summit Invitational Competition. In Junior Olympic Level 4, Saumya Kumar ranked sixth all-around (33.875) with bronze on vault (8.1), fourth on bars (8.65), sixth on beam (8.425) and eighth on floor (8.7); and Kayla Sherriff ranked eighth all-around (31.45) with eighth on vault (7.2), seventh on bars (7.4), sixth on beam (8.325) and floor (8.525).

Reggie Watson won gold all-around (55.4) with gold on pommel horse (7.6), parallel bars (8.4), physical preparation (9.4), and silver on floor (8.1), vault (8.8), rings (7.0) and high bar (6.1).

Golden Star
