Hampton Little League is hosting the B.C. Challenger Jamboree at Hampton Park on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. with 500 participants from 30 teams across B.C.
The day starts with a parade of players at 11 a.m. and includes mascots, balloon twisters and 27 baseball games spread across nine fields.
Challenger Baseball is based on the understanding that kids with a wide variety of disabilities have the ability to play baseball, build skills, be part of a team, make friends and have a lot of fun. The Challenger Division teams up the players with an able-bodied buddy from their community to provide assistance to the Challenger players at bat and in the field, when it’s needed.
