Hannoun pockets pair as Vees outlast Vipers

Demico Hannoun scores twice to help the Penticton Vees ground his former team, the Vernon Vipers, 3-1 in BCHL action Friday night.

Demico Hannoun pocketed a pair of goals to help the Penticton Vees ground his former team, the Vernon Vipers, 3-1 in B.C. Hockey League play Friday night at Kal Tire Place.

Hannoun collected his first snipe in the final minute of the first period after the Vipers had controlled much of the play up to that point.

After a number of lacklustre powerplays, Hannoun finally clicked on a Vees’ man advantage with a deflected point shot in the period two.

Thomas Aldworth pulled Vernon within a goal late in the final period, but the Snakes were unable to bury the equalizer. Instead, Matt Serratore put the game away with a last-second empty netter.
