The city’s annual half-marathon won’t be run this fall.
Try Events, which directed the event the last three years, decided not to host it again in 2011.
“The support of the race has been dropping for the past six years. It’s time to give the event a rest,” said Mitchell Hudson, who was race director the past three years, in an e-mail interview.
“Try Events does have a plan to return as long as there is strong community support for a local half-marathon … [It] will be an attempt to start fresh with the right combination of community partners.”
