The Harlem Globetrotters never lose, and what’s more, they win with style.

Fans in Nanaimo will see the Globetrotters pad their stats and perform some circus-calibre basketball skills at a sold-out game Sunday, Feb. 2, at the Vancouver Island University gym.

According to a press release from the Globetrotters, the Nanaimo stop is part of the team’s ‘Pushing the Limits’ tour and “fans will experience even bigger moments and memories.”

The Globetrotters, who claim to hold 21 basketball world records, are promising a to-be-announced world record attempt at the game, and as part of the tour they’re celebrating their implementation of the four-point shot 30 feet away from the basket.

“The Globetrotters have always been entertainers and innovators, and this season will be no exception,” said Lou Dunbar, Globetrotters head coach, in the press release. “Our fans have come to expect more than just a great show, and this season promises to deliver more entertainment and excitement than ever before. We can’t wait to get the season started and create memories that last a lifetime.”

The Globetrotters have been in existence for more than 90 years, have played in more than 100 countries and are enshrined in the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.

The game at VIU tips off at 3 p.m.
