The Penticton Heat A2 peewee team picked up a split in four Barn Burner games.
After losing the first two games to Abbotsford and Vancouver, the Heat earned back-to-back wins over Langley to finish fifth. Heat coach Chris Danby said the players performed better in those games.
“The boys played better team defence, were a lot more aggressive,” said Danby, who had nine runners all weekend. “It seemed they wanted to play more. We matched up better with them.”
A shortened Heat squad erupted for six-third period goals to earn a 9-4 win.
“It was fun to watch,” said Danby.
