On a bounce back weekend, the Chase Heat faced two strong opponents from big city franchises.

On Friday, Nov. 22, the Kamloops Storm came to town.

Cody Koskimaki opened scoring at 2:28 in the first period, and that was all for the Heat on this night. The Storm went home with a 4-1 win.  Mike Byer went the distance in goal, facing 44 shots.

On Saturday, the Kelowna Chiefs came to Chase to face the Heat. Kelowna opened scoring with 30 seconds left in the first. In the second, the Heat took over with three power-play markers;  Connor Venne potted one, and then new acquisition Buddy Summers added two more, one minute and three seconds apart. In the third, the Chiefs were strong and got two goals, one on the power play and then it was time for overtime.  In one of the most entertaining games of the season, Venne potted the winner in the second overtime at 1:45,   finishing the game with two goals and two assists.

Byer faced 42 shots in going the distance in net, while Summers let his presence be known with his first two goals as a Heat player.

Next home game is Saturday, Nov. 30, versus the division-leading Kamloops Storm as part of the Chase Country Christmas celebrations.
