The University of Victoria men’s soccer team continues exhibition play Saturday, Aug. 28 when they take on Oak Bay at 2 p.m. on UVic Field 4. The UVic Women’s team plays later that day versus the U-15 HPL Boys team. Kickoff is at 4:30 p.m. at Centennial field.
Cricket fans can get one of their last glimpses of the season on Saturday, Aug. 29 when Saanich plays Metchosin at Beacon Hill Park and the Incogs take on the Islanders at St. Michaels University School. Om Sunday, Aug. 30, the Beacon Hill pitch hosts Albion and the Colts. All games start at 12:30 p.m.
Oak Bay hockey fans can get their first look of the coming Junior B season when the Victoria Cougars host Peninsula Panthers this Sunday, Aug. 30. Puck drops at 3:30 p.m. at Archie Browning Arena.

Hoping to take in the Kraft Hockeyville NHL pre-season game between the Vancouver Canucks and San Jose Sharks Sept. 21? Head to Panorama Recreation Centre to enter a supervised public lottery over the coming week.
Enter your ballot in person for a chance to win two tickets to the game: Saturday, Aug. 29 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 5 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., or Sunday, Sept. 6 from 12 to 6 p.m.
Entrants must be 19 years of age or older and provide photo ID proof of age.
Residents of the Saanich Peninsula will required to provide proof of residence to enter a ballot in the residents’ draw. The tickets will be drawn Wednesday, Sept. 9 and with winners posted Thursday, Sept. 10 on the North Saanich Kraft Hockeyville Facebook page and in the Panorama Recreation Centre Arena lobby.
Still on hockey, the Victoria Royals host a garage sale and public skate this Saturday, Aug. 29 at the Save-on-Foods Memorial Centre. The sale takes place at Gate 3, at the back of the centre, from 12 to 2 p.m.
The Royals will have a variety of new and used equipment for purchase, including gloves and pants from $20 and sticks from $150 (limit two per customer). Partial proceeds will go toward the Victoria Royals Education and Scholarship Fund.
The free skating session takes place from 12:30 to 1:15 p.m
