Hill brings experience to Langley junior Thunder management team

Before joining Langley’s junior A lacrosse team as an assistant general manager, Kevin Hill was GM with the Coquitlam junior Adanacs.

The Langley junior Thunder have announced that Kevin Hill has been hired as assistant general manager and director of player personnel.

Hill was recently the general manager of the Coquitlam Adanacs in the Western Lacrosse Association (WLA) and was with the organization since 2013.

He also serves as a western scout for the Rochester Knighthawks in the National Lacrosse League (NLL).

“I am pretty excited about this new role with the junior Thunder,” Hill said. “All of my conversations with [general manager] Rob Buchan have been great, and cannot wait to get started.”

A Six Nations product, Hill played goaltender for the North Shore Indians in the West Coast Senior Lacrosse Association (WCSLA) starting in 2002. He was voted top goaltender in the WCSLA in 2010 and ’11.

“We are thrilled to have Kevin on board with the junior Thunder. He has a solid lacrosse background and believe will help us tremendously in many areas,” Buchan said. “His knowledge of the game and scouting expertise is a huge asset to the franchise.”

Hill will join assistant general managers Ryan Williams and Nauja Winkler, who work together to operate the Langley intermediate “A” and junior “A” franchises.

Both  Williams and Winkler are entering their third year with the Thunder.

“We have a great group of managers working within the junior Thunder and Kevin will be another welcome addition. He will focus on recruiting and the development of current players as well as other day to day operations with the club,” Buchan said. “We feel everyone in the organization will benefit from Kevin’s strengths and are confident he will excel in this role.”
