Keith Vandenbrink of Hillview tied for fourth at the $7,000 PGA of B.C. Senior Golf Championships at Rivershore in Kamloops.
Vandenbrink, 51, carded 74-71-145 to finish one-over and share fourth place, worth $490.
James Harper of McCleery in Vancouver, a Brigham Young Cougars’ grad, took the title at 69-69-138 for $1,500. Dean Clagget of Kelowna (Two Eagles) was runner-up at 69-71-140 and collected $1,100.
Vandenbrink bogeyed the 16th and 18th holes in his opening round Monday, but battled back in the wind and rain Tuesday with six birdies.
The FlightScope/COBRA PUMA Golf PGA of BC Assistants’ tourney ran alongside the Seniors and Oliver Tubb of Seymour Creek Golf Centre defeated clubmate Bryn Parry in a playoff for first place.
Tubb beat his friend and boss on the first hole of sudden death, making a birdie four despite finding two separate bunkers. Parry forced the playoff by jarring a 14-foot eagle putt on the 18th to match Tubb’s two-round score of 4-under 140. Tubb earned $3,000
Miles Johnson of Spallumcheen shot 74-75-149 to tie for 21st. He pocketed $250.
