Hit the indoor courts

GFREC is moving indoors with most of the community drop-in recreational activities. Volleyball is now scheduled Monday and Wednesday evenings from 8:30 – 10 p.m., Badminton is held on Tuesday and Thursdays from 8 – 10 p.m. in the GFSS gym.

Lean to dance

Learn to Dance drop-in lessons with instructor May Berge are held at the Hutton school gym Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 7 – 9 p.m. Drop-in fee is just $2 per session. Learn tango/jive/two-step and more and no partner required.

Play Frisbee with family

Families are always looking for activities to do together. The Family Ultimate Frisbee will be held at the Perley School gym Monday, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. No experience is necessary and children 10 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

Pickle ball outside for now

Pickle ball will remain at the Barbara Ann tennis courts until the weather forces the group inside. At such time, the group will move to Hutton school gym on Monday evenings from 7:15 – 9:15 p.m.

Adults can learn to swim

There is always time in your life to learn new skills to help open doors for new recreational activities.

Adult Learn to Swim programs are designed to help adults overcome the fear of water. GFREC will be offering a fall session on Tuesdays evenings from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. starting Oct. 6 for four weeks. Pre-registration is required by the end of this week.

Scuba a life-long skill

Scuba is a great life-long skill which you can make a career in the future or just enjoy the pleasure of the world beneath the water in the tropical ocean.

Serpent Aquatic instructor Sheldon Boyd from Summerland will be offering scuba for children and adults on Sunday, Oct. 25. Pre-registration is required by Monday, Oct. 19.
