Nimpo Lake’s Ted Hlokoff took his 1999 twin turbo Dodge Viper to the Shift Sector Airstrip Attack in Oregon earlier this month.
He finished with two second-place trophies in the six-speed class half-mile event.
“Next year I hope to win first,” he said. “I ran 1,100 and 1,200 wheel horsepower at the track, but managed to 1,400whp/1,200wtq from the engine on the dyno. We just couldn’t get the power to the ground as the car instantly smoked the tires and slowed with too much throttle unless the speed was more than 140 miles per hour.”
