Vernon’s Petite ringette teams combined forces, and came away with a win and two draws in weekend action in Osoyoos.
Vernon began by toppling the Kelowna Untouchables 6-1, led by Kristin Ho’s hat trick performance.
Abby Sveistrup, Brynn Korol and Jasmine Horton all pitched in with singles, Alassa Johnson supplied three assists, and Astrid Beaty and Rhys Taylor-Hawes helped out with one apiece.
Ho pulled another hat trick and Sierra Lochhead added a single as Vernon drew Westside 4-4 Saturday afternoon.
On Sunday, Vernon battled Fraser Valley in a 3-3 tie, with Lochhead, Korol and Ho handling the offence.
Mackenzie Gilman, Tristan Dewitt and Miah Cohen provided strong defence throughout the weekend, while Ashley Wadsworth brought great hustle. Kaila Summerfelt was stellar in net.
In Novice play, the Vernon Strikers split their games, pounding Kelowna 10-4 on Saturday before bowing 5-4 to Westside the next day.
Alecia Hughes (3+1), Aimee Skinner (2+1), Briana Visser (1+2), Emily Gilman (1+1), Lauren Cooke and Sasha Austin took care of the offence against Kelowna.
The Strikers outshot Westside 30-8, but ran into a hot goalie. Trailing early, Vernon made a game of it with three goals from Skinner and a single from Caryss Hill.
The Vernon Ice Breakers kept their Novice win streak intact with a pair of weekend wins.
Kristen Francks pocketed three goals and three assists as Vernon toppled the Kelowna Ice Angels 12-4 Saturday. Jordan Tung also had a strong outing with two goals and three assists.
Hillary Quiring exploded for 3+4 as the Breakers bounced Salmon Arm 16-3 Sunday.
Speedy Kennedy Jackson fired three goals, playmaker Amelia Johnson set up four goals and scored twice.
