Hockey players compete for B.C. Cup

For six Nanaimo minor hockey players, the season is going to continue.

The six are part of 200 players named to 10 teams competing in the Male U16 B.C. Cup in Kamloops April 28 to May 1.

Kyle MacDonald (Team Sabres), Nicolas Gomerich (Team Thrashers), David Osborne (Team Leafs), Dayton Boutilier (Team Avalanche), Zack Funk (Team Avalanche) and Chase Lang (Team Bruins) were chosen through zone camps held earlier this month across the province.

The jamboree-style tournament offers the top male players in the B.C. Hockey High Performance U16 Program the unique experience of competing with the best players in their age group from across the province.
